Small Wonders in Strange Light

In the unseen spectrum of infrared the familiar becomes unfamiliar – and the tiny becomes somehow transcendent, ambient, odd, and ethereal. This collection of infrared macro photographs invites you to see beyond the surface into the realm of light usually invisible to the human eye.

Captured using full-spectrum and infrared converted cameras (two Panasonic micro four thirds models – a GX7 and a GF3), each image reveals a delicate world. Dried lavender glowing like bone in fog, spent buds dancing in coral-coloured light. A curve of pale blue in water. These are not flowers as we know them, but the quiet voices of other wavelengths.

Here, in strange light, the small things speak in a voice not normally heard.
