Infrared Seascapes – Caister

Caister beach on a cloudy day, looking along the shoreline, in infrared.

A dark sweep of wet sand curves into the sea beneath a ceiling of heavy, layered cloud. The water gathers in a shallow channel that leads the eye toward the horizon. On the left, a pale, almost glowing figure bends nose-to-ground — Guide Dog Indy, transformed by infrared into a ghostly presence, padding along the beach with quiet purpose. The landscape feels vast and strange, as though time itself has slowed to match the tide.

A wash of deep indigo cloaks the beach, the sky thick with storm-darkened clouds that bleed light at their edges.

Along the sand, the faint silhouette of Indy can just be seen, luminous and small against the immensity of sea and sky. The photograph holds the hush of eternity, the sense of standing at the edge of something infinite.

Several large rocks on the shoreline, in infrared

The scene shows several large rocks on the shoreline, their surfaces draped in long white seaweed that glows ghostly in infrared light, giving the impression of snow or frost. Beyond them, the sea stretches out under a wide sky streaked with pale clouds, the horizon distant and hushed. The image feels otherworldly, as if the rocks wear winter coats at the edge of summer seas.

A wide beach under a vast cloudy sky, the tones rendered in soft violet and silver by infrared. A dog noses the sand.

To the right, Indy the dog explores the sand, his pale form blending with the surreal light. The shoreline curves away into the distance, carrying the eye toward the horizon, where sea and sky meet in dreamlike stillness.
