Morning Walk

Jackson and I went on an early morning walk today before it got too warm.

Although I walked retired guide dog Jackson (as did his dad) before I lost Biggie it now seems extra sad for me to be out there in places Big and I used to go.

Jackson adores his walks, and although he’s both arthritic and thoroughly dippy he is good company. He’s got no recall anymore though, the little monkey.

Here’s the view through the path to the footbridge through the woods – deep green dappled with sunlight, a paved path with metal and concrete barriers either side. Jackson’s eager sandy old Labrador body in his black Julius K9 walking harness and bright neon green lead at the bottom left of the screen. Next to it the end of my long white cane complete with huge roller ball end.

The Way Forward

We often meet other dogs and their owners, and today we met a little biscuit coloured poodley type doggo. She was happy to lay down on the dry grass and roll on her back for a belly rub, as this image shows.

Aw, tickle tickle !

Can’t say no to dog cuddles !
